Summary of the Day:

The Icefields Parkway is a scenic road travelling through Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. Visible from the parkway, the Crowfoot Glacier is situated on the Crowfoot Mountain. The glacier has retreated and now has lost one entire lobe, it therefore no longer resembles the glacier which early explorers named. Lines along the Icefields Parkway is Bow Lake which is a glacial lake with origins in a melted glacier. Lies in Jasper National Park is the Columbia Icefield which has an area of 325 sq km and up to 365m in depth. Athabasca Glacier is one of the glacier feed by the Icefield. We can step on this glacier after a ride on the giant snow coach over the steep grades up the glacier. Another exciting experience of the glacier is to walk on a glass-floored walkway of 280m that extends over the Sunwapta Valley. A bird’s eye view provides the most unique perspective of nature at its finest.
